Sun kissed in the shade…

Sun kissed in the shade…

As we enter the beginning of a long hot summer, we’re reminded that while we’ve got it pretty good in terms of a country free from danger, the biggest risk we face is the juicy, warm summer sun. And look, we’d happily let our skin drink its rays – but never without protection.

The ozone layer over our beautiful island nation is thinner, so being sun smart isn’t just a catchy tagline for us. It’s a way of life.

SPF

Whilst you may be on the ‘it’s 50 or nothing’ train, in the belief that more is better. The difference between 30 and 50 is marginal. At JB, we adhere to a minimum of SPF 15 for the body and no less than 30 for the face - every day.

  • SPF 15 blocks 94 per cent of UV rays
  • SPF 30 blocks 96.7 per cent of UV rays
  • SPF 50 blocks 98 per cent of UV rays

What’s in a tan?

We’re inherently predisposed to find attractiveness in a tan. Subconsciously it signals exposure to the outdoors, nature and vitamin D. To top it off, we know that any sign of sun frolicking suggests that the owner of a bronzy tone has had 'down time’ – healthy for mind, body and soul.

How to get a safe, healthy island glow?

Regardless of whether or not you intend on sunbathing this summer, SPF is a must – enter our skin saviour - BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30, created to protect against damaging UV rays, firm the skin and cover imperfections.
